Fragments

I find that I use more sentence fragments in screenplays than I do in stage plays. It's the bloody font and format and the way sentences break in screenplays. I'm more inclined to chop down a sentence in a screenplay to save myself an extra line or two because there's a higher premium on pages.

The consequence being, the dialogue in my screenplays feels a little different than the dialogue in my plays. And I'm always trying to strike some balance there. Dialogue just has more room to breath and find its own rhythm in a stage play.

Are you motherfuckers ready for the new shit?

All right, kids. We're nearly there now. My adrenalized, modern spin on a Frankenstein story. Short-circuiting millions of years of evolution and rewriting genesis.

Just trying to comb through this draft extra carefully right now. What a quiet, isolated Saturday spent with this script. We've got to earn the right to attend all tomorrow's parties.
