Let's Go to Work

It's been over a year—a good 14 months—since my play debuted at SPF. And I've finally got representation. I made the call this morning.

Paradigm.

I've met some other really good reps, and there are more I could have met with, but I just had a feeling about these guys. Based on a lot of factors.

Ultimately, I just want to get to work. I want to get out there, I want my name out there, and known, so I can build this career. There's a lot I want to do and a lot I don't want to do. And I'd like to keep doing the things I want to do.

I know how fragile these careers can be. I take nothing for granted. There's a whole lot I'd like to accomplish before I relax.

I'm meditating on the long haul here. I don't want this ride to end for a fucking while.

On a Winter's Day

All the leaves are brown...

In the latest issue of AMERICAN THEATRE, there's an excerpt from a brilliant speech by Richard Nelson.

Basically articulates what I loathe about writing for the theater...

More on this another time...
