You’d go to an office, and there were always a couple of executives and producers, and they all had something to say. You [head] back to the hotel room, you’re looking at the wall. This was at a time when I needed the money, so I would adapt the scenes according to what they wanted. And the result would be a bad picture, or it wouldn’t be made. No more screenplays for me.”
